Another Department of Education requirement placed upon the Philippine schools was to instruct the students in how to properly wash their hands. Playing with water – what fun we had!
Thanks to our generous sponsors and donors we were able to equip our newly set up science laboratory. Also, we were able to purchase garden tools for agricultural projects as required by the Department of Education for higher grades (Grades 7-8). September 22, 2017 marked Parents’ and Teachers’ conference for the first quarter of the school year. Each grade level teacher held meetings with individual parents and their children. The time had come once again for the Filipinos to celebrate the National Language. In 1937 Filipino was announced to be the official language of the Philippines. This language is a mixture of Spanish words and English alphabets. This year’s celebration theme was called, “Filipino: Wikang Mapagbago” (“Filipino: Language of Change”). After numerous changes and activities during the first few weeks things have settled down to a normal routine and we were able to resume our favorite weekly feeding program.
