We would like to send greetings to all and let you know of some of the activities we have done in the month of October.
One of the things that is important to us is to not only supply an education for the children, but to tell them of the love of Jesus. We meet every other week on Sunday afternoons with the children, mothers and widows. We teach the children from the Bible and this month we talked about David and Moses and how they believed God and saw the mighty hand of God move in their behalf. These times give us a wonderful opportunity to share the salvation message with the women and children. Since Bro. Burt and Sis. Nancy were here, there was a good time of sharing Bible stories, including the tabernacle in the wilderness and what it means. The children especially like the flannel graphs Sis. Nancy used to show in picture form what was happening in those Bible stories.
After the Bible stories the children were given some pictures to color while the women did a craft. They had been making very lovely glass beaded bracelets. This time they made necklaces to match the bracelets. The necklaces and bracelets were then sold and the women were able to put this money in their savings account.
October was the month for the fourth quarter distribution of food staples, such as teff flour, wheat flour, oil and also laundry soap.
After our week of training last month for all the staff, we have been implementing the valuable information given to us. One is the importance of each one’s job and how to run the NGO smoothly. We had a very good staff meeting this month with the social worker and accountant to discuss these matters.
We also visited the childrens’ schools and spoke with all the teachers as it better helps us to know how the children are doing in school and where we can encourage them to do even better.
The work is continuing by God’s protection and your lovely support, therefore may God bless you all.
