A year of our child sponsorship program has gone by and we are pleased to announce that so far we have sponsors for 43 children of the Kingdom Message Foundation school. We want to express our thanks to all of you who participated in it.
It is hard to put into words what your prayers and support are achieving in the lives of those who are receiving them. Thanks to our school, one hundred of the poorest of the poor children in Butuan City are given the opportunity to have their destination changed – both in this life and the eternal life to come.
WHAT ARE OUR PLANS FOR THE FUTURE?
First of all, the summer months (April & May) are dedicated to special classes ordered by The Department of Education in the Philippines. They will be mainly focused on the incoming grade 1 pupils. During these two months we are also going to be working on the school premises, doing the necessary maintenance in order to be again in full gear on June 1.
Even though we were able to extend the rent of our current school premises (we did so in June 2011 for three years), we are still in need of our own building. It will give us the ability to meet the government requirements for being granted permission to teach children beyond the 4th grade. As it is our desire to keep the current children (plus many more) throughout all their school years, the expansion of our current premises is inevitable. The land for this purpose has been purchased and at present, we are in the process of acquiring the access road right of way to this property.
In addition to these, we are also trusting doors will open for us to establish more schools and after school activities so that the gospel of the kingdom of God will be made available to even a larger number of children of the Philippines.
