Reaching Beyond Words Uganda (RBW-U) greets you all our dear donors and sponsors. We would love to share with you some updates about the camp we hosted for all our beneficiaries from the 19th December 2020 to 5th January 2021. Wow the camp was a blessing to many beneficiaries, it is something they never even thought could or would happen during this covid-19. We really want to thank God for his provision, protection, care, and love during this camp because we had different people who shared the word with the beneficiaries online. Grandpa Burt, Grandpa Hubert, Uncle Martin, Uncle Tomas, Uncle Roman and the Port Harcourt Brethren. It was such a blessing for us here, and all the beneficiaries were really blessed.
During the camp, each morning we had devotions, it was a must and it really blessed many children. For those that live in Africa will understand when we say thank God for the “perfect” network for the online meetings. No power outage, no dropped internet, it had to be God’s intervention that each broadcast went smoothly.
This camp really happened at the right time and we believe it was God’s timing because two beneficiaries, Esther and Fiona were saved from being in serious problem situations. When the Covid-19 started so many things changed, such as restrictions that caused lock downs with food shopping restrictions at times and school shut downs. Some of our beneficiaries that had been going to boarding schools, had to go back to their family members. We at the mission house took as many to stay with us as room allowed, that has been so beneficial. What we have witnessed is those that could not stay with us have been tested in their familiar settings, and some have not done well. The children in the Reaching Beyond Words Uganda program come from some very difficult situations many times living in the ghetto’s. We take them to bring a better life of love, hope and safety. Yes we feed them, clothe them, educate them but most of all we want them to know the greatest love that is in a living God. Please pray with us for each child, that they can continue to know the love God has for them and that he will never leave them nor forsake them.
Esther’s parents now are incredibly happy that we took Esther in time for the camp because all her friends were arrested because of walking at night and night clubbing and now they are all in prison and if Esther were home, she would have been arrested and put in prison too.
Fiona who had an infection for two months before she came when she got wounded in a community fight. We thank God that she was allowed by her mother to attend the camp as the infection was getting worse. With prayer and treatment from the hospital she had totally recovered when she left the camp. Counselor Concy encouraged her to start reading the word and praying seriously. We will keep in touch with her. She knows we are there for her.
During the camp, a lot happened, we have been looking for a bigger place to rent and during the camp it all came together. We had to move to a new mission house which was an answer to prayer, the big children did help a lot with moving all the beds and a house occupied by 10 people. We are grateful now we have some more space. :):)
Thank You all for keeping us in your prayers. We continue to home-school
the children at the mission house. Some of the older children went back to boarding school January 12th.
Below are the summaries from the beneficiaries.
