Hello to All,
Greetings again from the Ethiopian Reaching Beyond Words. Every month we look forward to sharing with you what we have been doing here at the NGO. We have accomplished the following things in the month of April 2017:
We had a get together day with all of our children and their families over the holiday. Brother Fikre and Brother Girma each shared a very encouraging message to those attending. We then gave each family some money we call holiday support for all our 75 children. We also distributed nutritional food support which included 25 kg teff flour.
We have some great news as we have found an employment opportunity for our single mothers and widows. Two of our widows are now employed and started their jobs. We are continuing the training with Sister Lemlem and have advised the ladies strongly to work hard and cooperate within the regulation and rules of Reaching Beyond Words. Sometimes we have had ladies in the program that do not want to work, and the whole purpose of the classes is to improve the ladies’ lives. We are very blessed to see some of the ladies in the program better their lives with better jobs and better ways to make a living.
As we usually do, we have meetings with all the children and their families. The tutorial class is continuing every Saturday morning. We have also started an additional tutorial class for some of our children as their report card results show they need improvement, therefore they learn one-and-half hours once a week after their school time. Our social worker is continuing the home to home visits of the children and their families and she gives them counseling for all the families about how to care for their children and how to manage them within good care as a good family.
Concerning the two special need children, they are attending their education and we thank you very much for the support.
