Greetings to all,
We thank God again and again because He helped all of us and the work in many ways, amen. Our Ethiopian Reaching Beyond Words NGO work is going well and we have accomplished the following things the month of January.
This month we had visitors from the U.S.A. and the Czech Republic. Bro. Tomas from the Czech Republic continues to give the NGO staff practical training to better use their computers and help the accountant with his bookkeeping program. Since it is time for the annual audit, it is so helpful to have a good bookkeeping system in place.
Bro. Burt and Sis. Nancy from the U.S.A. helped with our training program for the ladies. We also had a meeting with our orphans and children and the widows and single mothers. Sis. Nancy with Bro. Tomas’ help did a puppet show for the 75 plus children sharing moral principles of trustworthiness, honesty and integrity. Bro. Burt shared with the parents the importance of following the NGO’s guidelines making sure their child is at school on time and does the work required. There was also another meeting for the children on Saturday where Bro. Burt and Bro. Tomas took the older children and Sis. Nancy had the younger children 5 thru 8 years old. Again, we had a wonderful time sharing uplifting stories with them.
All our beneficiaries got the first quarter nutrition ration support of flour and oil. Our 10 new mothers and widows have started their training and are showing good progress learning to knit and crochet. Sis. Nancy taught the ladies how to make earrings; they also made glass bead necklaces.
Our children continue every week on Saturday with their tutorial classes to help them do even better in school. We are very glad for this.
As the NGO has grown with 75 children, we have outgrown our current office space. The good news is we have found a larger office space not far from where we are now. We are in the process of working all the details out and hope to move in a couple of weeks.
We would like to say God bless you all for all your lovely contributions.
God Bless You!!!
