July 2015 in Ethiopia

Posted on 08.09.15 by RBW

It is such a great pleasure for us to share with all of you once again about our work. Let us tell you a little about what we have been involved in during the month of July.

As always we have seen God’s great help and guidance in our Ethiopian RBW work, therefore we rejoice and praise our Almighty God for all His bountiful gifts. We were very busy this past month of July with the activities of our programs for our beneficiaries.

We had regular meetings with our needy children and their families throughout the month. Our meetings consisted of teaching the kingdom of God, and also reviewing their school year Report Cards. We discussed with the families about their children and how to see improved progress in the following new school year starting in September.

We have purchased books and clothing for all 75 children and distributed the clothes. We are very pleased to report the clothing fits well and looks very nice on all of them. We were also able to distribute our third quarter nutritional food support for all of the beneficiaries. Each one has received 25 kg of wheat flour.

More good news is that we have received free medical check-ups and treatments from Mother Teresa’s NGO for some of the beneficiaries that have HIV AIDS. They have given them treatment along with free medication. Those in need will have follow up and be helped in the future.  We are thanking God for this wonderful provision, and we also thank this organization for all their cooperation and assistance given to the orphans and families.

Our widows’ training program is continuing with good progress. The ladies are learning how to knit, sew and make scarfs, along with other sewing skills. They have class three days a week, for two hours each session, Tuesday thru Thursday afternoon. Their teacher, Miss Lemlem, is very helpful as a teacher and is managing with diligence and commitment assuring that the ladies receive the most out of each class. They have almost finished their first month training, with two months to go for them to fully complete this course.

Our children have received very high ranking in the school system and we must say we are very happy.  We have planned some awards to give them of which we will be able to tell you soon.

Following is a list of some of the top ranked students:

1. Beline Matwos, Grade One… Ranked 2nd
2. Abraham Walelegn, Grade One… Ranked 2nd
3. Mahelet Tesfaye, Grade Three… Ranked 4th
4 Abraham Tamer, Grade Five… Ranked 1st
5. Dagmawit  Sisay, Grade Six… Ranked 3rd

Praise the Lord for these good results of our students, most of our children have gotten promotions due to favorable grading results. We are encouraging each of them to continue to work hard during the next school year.

We will start next Saturday morning for two hours each Saturday to teach all the children in the program Bible truths of the kingdom of God. We have also obtained use of a large room in the former meeting place until we can find another hall. We are searching for a more suitable place to meet our need for more space. As of now we have not found a suitable place and would ask you to pray with us regarding this matter. We need your prayers for this and for better understanding of the proper ways of teaching and encouraging our children and widows.

We would like to say, may God bless you all for your dedication toward the support of God’s kingdom work.

God Bless You.
Bro. Jemal and the Ethiopian RBW Staff
