Hello to All,
Greetings again from the largest city in Ethiopia, Addis Ababa. It is a pleasant 61°F (16°C) today. We here at the Ethiopian Reaching Beyond Words NGO are very glad to share with you the events of the ongoing work.
We were very busy the month of July. As we have mentioned before, our days are very full and seem to go by so quickly. This month we had a very nice time sharing with all the children in the program, as well as their families. It’s a good time of motivation and encouragement.
This month we had the Dorcas organization spend a day with all our beneficiaries. Dorcas is a Christian relief program committed to care for and empower poor and oppressed people. The Dorcas organization performed a skit, shared some experiences with us, and had games and songs for the children. It was a wonderful day for all. We are so thankful the Dorcas family was willing to take the time to be with us. It has been such a blessing to have different organizations willing to help and share with the RBW NGO.
A big undertaking for us at the Ethiopian RBW NGO is purchasing and distributing shoes and uniforms for all the 75 beneficiaries. The cost of living here in Addis has seen a sharp increase; in fact, just to buy food is very expensive and clothing prices have more than doubled. We are grateful that we could help the children with these new clothes. They all say a very BIG Thank You!
The widows and single mothers continue to work hard and they show progress by saving money in their savings accounts. Sister Lemlem is helping them a lot by visiting their business places and giving them advice and counsel as to how they can continue to work and improve their businesses.
We are also in the process of the RBW renewal of our license, which is due this year. Please think of us in this endeavor.
Our new secretary cashier is working out well. Also, we are happy that we can continue to help the special needs child.
We want to say thank you, to all of you that contribute to this work. Your sacrificial love and care is such a blessing.
