Greetings to all of you,
Once again we want to praise God for His help in all our work; because of Him and His great help we have accomplished the following things in the month of June:
We continue to have meetings once a month with the children, widows, and single mothers. In our meetings we have discussed the children’s health and education. We also discuss with the single mothers and widows the important values on how to raise the children in the right way.
All of the children are showing progress in their education and physical growth and they have finished their school year at the end of June. Some of our Kindergarten students have graduated and they will now go to first grade by this up and coming September new school year. Each child has been promoted to the next grade level.
One thing we are facing as a challenge is that the cost of living has gotten worse – the price of food and clothes has really gone up. We have purchased new shoes for all our 75 children, even though the price has almost doubled from the cost of the shoes last year.
As we have mentioned before the widows and single mothers that have taken the training classes, many have chosen to sell their products on the street. Some rent a little spot on the sidewalk to set up their “shop.” We have discussed with the operational area government officers to help us get shady places for their small businesses.
We have also done a full day awareness training seminar for our twenty target widows and single mothers. The training was on how to work in cooperation with each other, saving money, how to make a profit, and other practical practices. The ten widows and single mothers have graduated and finished their training in May. Seven of them have gotten their seed money to start their businesses and the other three have to finish some requirements and then they will also receive their seed money.
We have received the evaluation report on the NGO from the Sub City government office and it’s a very good report.
In all our work we have seen God’s guidance and help so we praise Him for all His help. We know that your lovely contributions are helping this work a lot, so may God bless you all for your contributions.
