We have seen God’s hand in our work in many ways and it is wonderful to watch Him move every day helping us every step of the way.
We have recently hired a very qualified part-time accountant. Also, our recently hired social worker with a burden for the children has proved to be invaluable. These are timely gifts for us as a NGO to run things smoothly.
We had three meetings with the children, their mothers and the widows in the month of June. In these meetings we discussed the importance of keeping the children clean. The new social worker taught the children Bible stories and other important things that a child should know.
In addition to meeting with the families, we visited the children’s school and discussed with their teachers the children’s attendance. Right now they are in final exams and soon the school will be closed until the end of August.
We were able to purchase a filing cabinet for our office with the offering we were given for that purpose. We also got two desks and chairs. It is very nice now to have a place for doing all the paper work.:-)
Our NGO director together with the social worker visited our 12 children, their mothers and the widows’ homes. They were able to observe how they use our support and manage their children in the home environment. These visits are very helpful in order to be able to encourage the children, their mothers and widows on better hygiene, etc. We also visited the widows training center and observed how and what the ladies were learning.
In addition to all activities mentioned above, our three widows finished their medical checkups. This had been a major accomplishment for us and we are very grateful that it was made possible.
As always, the days seem to fly by as we keep quite busy. We will keep you posted on our future activities.
