Hello and greetings to all,
We wanted to send out a note to update you all on the ongoing work at the Reaching Beyond Words Ethiopia NGO. The work continues with our weekly meetings with the children and family members. We distribute food and hygiene products on a regular basis. Our social worker keeps busy visiting the different homes to instruct and address any issues that might have arisen. Widows and single mother’s receive seed money from the NGO to start their business, which is always a blessing to see them improve their lives.
One of the 75 children in the Ethiopia NGO came to the program at a very young age and now she is in 12th grade and excelling in her subjects at school. It’s so marvelous to see these young people growing not only physically in a healthy way but most importantly in the ways of the Lord.
Many of you might have heard but those who have not, Brother Burt Asbill went to be home with the Lord on December 5th,2021. Having traveled for over 3 decades all over the world, ministering the hope that only comes in a personal relationship with a living God. He and his wife lived in Ethiopia for a little while, helping to establish and encourage the work and NGO there. Brother Burt had a deep appreciation and love for those in need. Reaching Beyond Words was established years ago because there were those that had a vision that you could give someone a fish but more importantly was the need to teach them how to fish! In other words, it was one thing to travel and give to different people in need, but what happens if you are away how will their need be met, so Reaching Beyond Words came into being where the outreach not only gives but teaches, helping those in need learn how to have hope in the natural and the spiritual. Brother Burt will be greatly missed but he worked with some dear people that also have the vision for this outreach that by God’s grace is continuing.
In December the RBW Ethiopia NGO had a memorial service for Brother Burt, and many attended including some government officers. They expressed their love for him, and were grateful for his support, teaching and ministry.
God Bless You for your prayers and sacrificial giving,
Brother Jemal and the Reaching Beyond Words NGO Staff
