Singing at the Mission House!

In 2017 the Reaching Beyond Words Uganda program began. The three young people highlighted here have been with the program since 2017. Coming from various backgrounds with no chance for continuing school because of funds. Here today they are excelling. We Praise God for his mercies which are new every morning.

When Aaron Okech entered Reaching Beyond Words Uganda he was residing in the slums of Naguru down in Kampala. He was living with his uncle, who brought him from the village after Aaron dropped out of school due to lack of school fees. From the beginning Aaron has always dreamed of being a doctor and worked hard in school to keep up good grades. Aaron is 21. Here is Aaron’s testimony now.

OKECH AARON: I really want to thank the Almighty God for all that He has done in my life and that which He is still doing within my soul, this is my experience since I joined Nursing course. I believe joining Nursing as a course was the best option for me, because my dream is to become a medical Doctor and I want to lay a good foundation, which I believe Nursing is doing so, since I am exposed to learn different things concerning health in the hospital, homes, community and everywhere we stay. I really want to thank God for making me like this course, and I believe it was God’s plan. At first, I thought it was going to be hard, but through it all I have learned to trust the Lord Jesus Christ for all. It is really great as I learn to associate with other people, and see how they look at things from different perspectives, and also encourage them, based on my testimonies, which the Lord has done for me. I personally like the course so much and am hoping for the best after completing it. I pray always to God that His will, may be done within my soul and that I will obey the Holy Spirit, and allow Him to lead me in all. I want to thank all the brethren for always supporting me, encouraging me and praying for me always, may the Almighty God bless you all. I pray that the Will of God may be done within your souls, and that we will all come to His perfection. May the Almighty God bless you all, in Jesus Name, Amen.

When Daphine entered the Program in 2017 she was coming from a very troubled family. Daphine will be 20 soon. Here is her testimony now.

DAPHINE NAKIMULI: I want to thank God for enabling me finish my course of catering and I want to take this opportunity to thank Reaching Beyond Words for the great work they have done to see that I complete my studies well (from 2017-2025 RBW enrolled me when I was in Primary 7 in 2017 and took me through O level and after I went for two more years in a vocational school for certificate course in catering and hotel management and finished with internship this August. I am now looking for a job. May the Lord bless the works of (Reaching Beyond Words), Grandma’s (affectionately called) hands, (secretary of RBW and everybody who puts in to see that we get the best, may God bless you all. My Experience at the place of internship was through God who went before me and I got a place, so when I started on the first day it was hard because I was in the housekeeping department where cleaning and dusting and other things are done and my supervisor was a lady who was tough but through it all l learned a lot from her and as days went on we got to know each other very well until I finished her department. And other departments were also good because the workers there welcomed me very well and they were so friendly to me even the manager as he even taught me more things in my industry and that came in because I really wanted to learn and I could obey the rules of the hotel. It reached a time when I became use to the place and even the manager let me do overtime work where he paid me and the chef always was giving me opportunity to do orders even when I was done with the kitchen, it was really so good to do my internship there and I want to thank God who made me finish very well because even when I finished they never wanted me to go and whenever they need my help they call me and they have even given me two weeks to help them as a casual worker and they will pay me, as during the internship I was not being paid, I am so grateful to God and I pray for a good place where I will work as God leads me as God always goes before me and I give him the Glory Amen.

When Omarach Mlevyn Dismas came to Reaching Beyond Words in 2017 he also was living with an Uncle in the slums and because of lack of funds could not attend school. Melvyn is now 25. Here is Testimony now.

OMARACH MELVYN DISMAS: I would like to take this opportunity to thank the almighty God the creator of the heaven and the earth and to all Reaching Beyond Words board members for this great opportunity they have given me and the rest of my brethren.
I joined Reaching Beyond Words in 2017. I was in Primary 7 and after joined secondary school, sat for senior four in 2022 and later joined a vocational institute in 2023 for a certificate in Fashion and Designs and Decorations for two years and I am currently in my examination period. I was able to finish the two practical exams both on garment construction men’s wear which was done on Thursday 14th August 2025 and laundry and dry cleaning on Friday 15th August 2025 and the theories on 18th August 2025 where I have garment making men’s wear and on 19th August 2025 laundry and dry cleaning. Now I am looking forward to sit for the last exams of December and finally wait for graduation.
And I have also acquired skills in sewing like sewing waist coats, men’s trousers, shirts, skirts, aprons and other items.
The second thing I want to talk about my side businesses that am handling right now while am studying. The first business is about selling bed sheets, sweaters for both gents and ladies and trousers for men strictly that I started after receiving the money from the RBW program and I am also running a popcorn machine as I sell popcorn in the evening after my classes and I want to thank to God and all the brethren for putting their hands towards my businesses, I pray that God blesses them abundantly. The businesses have been moving on well though it has slightly lowered down due to this examination.
