February 4, 2011
We would like to express our gratitude to all the sponsors who have been faithfully praying for the children and teachers of our school and sharing their love and earthly possessions with the indigent of the Philippines. It is difficult to put into words what your kind support is accomplishing in the hearts and lives of the children and their families. We just want to say a big THANK YOU to you all.
Have you ever wondered how our days are structured? Well, here is our Monday thru Friday kindergarten daily plan:
8:10 – 8:25 – meeting time 1 (arrival/checking of attendance; opening prayer time)
8:25 – 9:25 – work period 1 (small group activities)
9:25 – 9:40 – meeting time 2 (discuss work period/activities)
9:40 – 9:55 – supervised recess (snack time)
9:55 – 10:15 – Bible story time
10:15 – 11:00 – work period 2 (rhymes/poems/songs)
11:00 – 11:20 – indoor/outdoor activities
11:20 – 11:30 – meeting time 3/dismissal routine
After the morning session is over, more children come to the afternoon session, in which the same program is followed. This enables us to teach twice as many children. [The first grade children stay for both morning and afternoon sessions as that is what the Filipino law requires. We will share their schedule with you next time.]
While the children are learning, some of the mothers leave for home, but some of them wait for their offsprings by the school. Every Friday from 9:00 to 11:00 and from 1:00 to 3:00 there is a Bible study held with the indigent mothers.
Saturday from 2:00 to 5:00 we gather for a fellowship meeting organized for the mothers of the indigent children, their children, and our church members. We encourage the mothers to participate in this meeting teaching them that as God is faithful to us, we should, in return, be also faithful to Him and give Him praise in the congregation of the saints. We praise God for they all attend faithfully.
God is truly doing marvelous work in the Philippines. Thank you again for being part of it.
