There is always much activity at the mission house in Uganda. Of course recently Brother Godfrey and Sister Concy added their fourth child to the family. Today we would like to share some pictures from their 3 acre farm in Harugongo, 4 hours from Kampala. On the farm they began to plant different crops of sweet potatoes, corn, matooke and other crops. Their thought is that it can provide a food source for them and the mission house. It has become a big blessing with a harvest of sweet potatoes and Matooke,(looks like bananas but used differently). Brother Godfrey said ” The sweet potatoes – Having the children help clean and dry the sweet potatoes is a great way to get them involved in food production. Drying the sweet potatoes in the sunshine is an effective traditional method to prepare them for grinding into flour later on. This allows the sweet potatoes to be preserved and utilized in various dishes over a longer period of time.
