Praise God we started the school in spite of much hardship. It is still raining everyday making the roads muddy and very difficult to use. We have to pass on several puddles of water on the road leading to the school. Sometimes the water is so much that it sips through into the vehicle from under. Yesterday the lady who was to take the measurement of the children to make the school uniforms turned back without getting to the school. That is a major setback as we wanted to settle the issue of uniforms as soon as possible.
A car and a driver has been made available to us to get us to work every day. Twice we had a breakdown on the way to the school but the Lord sent help. The terrain is quite challenging but at the same time we see the grace of God helping us on.
On the first day of school, we had a little opening ceremony. We had a prayer session included. The parents were very impressed and said as much.
We were able to fill our library with many books. They were donated by an American family based in the Congo. They have been living in Africa doing mission work for over 40 years. They run a school in the Congo. The books include three sets of Encyclopedia, several English language and literature, math, geography books, and a number of them are prepared purposely for use in Christian schools. We are very blessed by their generosity.
