October 20, 2013
“A Call for Teachers!” was the slogan of World Teachers’ Day 2013 (October 4). Teachers are the most powerful force for quality education and quality education offers hope and promise of a better future. The Teachers’ Day is a day to say a special “thank you” to the teachers for all their efforts and sacrifices in molding and developing young minds and hearts into mature and responsible adults.
Kingdom Message Ministry School has never celebrated this annual event. And we probably wouldn’t have done so this year either, if it were not for the PTCA (Parents, Teachers and Community Association) officers. To the absolute surprise of all the teachers and the school staff, they arranged the whole celebration, organized every detail of it and the only thing that was required of the teachers was to sit down, watch and listen to what the parents as well as the students had to share with them – poems, songs, and speeches. The children also presented cards, “thank you” letters, gifts, and flowers to their beloved teachers as a sign of their gratitude. It was a very moving experience.
We are very grateful for the parents’ willingness, cooperation and support of the school.
From all of us here in the Philippines, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the friends and sponsors who are there for us. Thank you for lending your hand to the poor and indigent children in the Philippines. Thank you so much.
