Hello to All Again from Sunny Ethiopia,
We always are so happy to share with you the work of the Ethiopian Reaching Beyond Words NGO. We have accomplished a number of things in the month of October 2016. As you might remember, here in Ethiopia we have started our New Year on September 11, 2016, which means 2009 for us.
All our children in the NGO program have started their new school year with getting all the scholastic materials they need. We also started their tutorial classes every Saturday morning for three hours; we help them learn math, English, and other supportive teachings to help their educational knowledge. We are so blessed to have volunteer teachers to work with the beneficiaries. “Redeem the Generation” NGO gave us a free room to use for our K-2nd grade students in their building. May God bless them. We have meetings with our children and their families once a month, so we had a good time with them and discussed all the important things in our daily work with them all.
Our widows and single mothers are continuing to learn to save money in their savings accounts; they all are working hard. We visited their work places and it’s very exciting and encouraging to us to see the ladies moving forward.
Our new social worker has started visiting all our beneficiaries’ homes and has made good progress. She easily communicates with all of them in a short period of time. We thank God for all His help and guidance in this work.
We purchased and distributed teff flour for our nutritional ration food support for all our 75 children. Things are very expensive, especially food these days. The NGO gives them 25 kg of teff flour for each family. We also supply medical fees, school fees, and special needs support. As we all know our special child, Seblework Wasyihun, her father and mother have passed away and she is now living with her father’s second wife. She is fine and continuing her medical treatment and schooling. Please pray for her and our other special needs child, Besufekad Abay. These two children are in our special support program to help with the day-to-day needs and care.
